Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti runs project SEVA - the multipurpose treatment centre for care in alternative medicine in Bhubaneswar which provides treatment for Physiotherapy, Acupressure, Naturopathy and Yoga. The Seva (service) provided is a milestone in Odisha and has made a name in helping the downtrodden with medical health.

The physiotherapy care center is running successfully where 35 to 40 patients are treated everyday by experienced post-graduate doctors and expert assistants. It is equipped with all modern facilities to render service to senior citizens and to poor citizens who are unable to attain these services otherwise.

Due to the satisfactory quality of service provided there has been an increase in the number of patients who are willing to avail this service by about 25 to 30 more each day. Your donation will help in treating around 70 patients who approach us for service.

Utkal Bipanna Sahayata Samiti has initiated a skill training programme for the youth who are dropouts or were unable to complete their education due to unfavourable family and economic conditions. This noble programme designed by our organization imparts training to 60 trainees per batch and a total of 240 youths in a year making them eligible for employment.

It is a 3-month long residential training programme in computer science which gives them training in computer basics making them eligible for the skills required in any Govt, private or corporate sector. We have built the infrastructure required for training with individual systems for each trainee and an independent classroom facility. Accommodation is provided along with 3 meals per day and snacks, uniform and other daily expenses are borne by our organization.

The trainees undergo assessment and certification by the concerned Sector Skill Council approved by the Govt. of India after which we make efforts to place them with potential employees throughout and outside the State.

Health services in remote areas, tribal districts and rural pockets of coastal districts of Odisha are inaccessible even today due to many hurdles like non-availability of hospitals, doctors, lack of transportation facilities and mainly because the poor and uneducated are unaware of basic health needs.

To overcome this problem our organization has launched a Mobile Medical Unit in 2002-03 which is a 55-inch long mobile hospital vanity van equipped with instruments for dental and eye check-ups along with a pathology lab and a digital X-ray unit. With the help of this, we are successfully conducting 8 to 10 health camps every month each lasting for 1 to 2 days where at least 200 patients are given free check-up, consultation, laboratory testing and medicines. We are further planning to extend this service around the State giving priority to tribal and interior districts.

The Sushruta Seva Unit (Mobile Medical Unit) has gained popularity among masses in the State for its outstanding service and is recognized for it.

General Fund is created and maintained by our NGO to cover general expenses not specific to a project/cause/need. This helps cover expenses vital to the running of the organisation. Expenses such as administrative expenses, various overheads are paid from the General Fund. Most NGOs maintain a General Fund to help them meet the donation gap created when donors donate only to a specific project/cause/need or any unexpected expense which may arise during the course of running the organisation.

Corpus Fund is considered to be the capital of the organisation. The Fund is generated and kept by us for the sustenance and existence of the organisation. The Corpus Fund is of paramount importance to the organisation as it helps us during the times of distress. Only the interest/dividend earned from it is accumulated or utilized for general purposes. It is required for the smooth sustenance of the organisation. We are currently trying to build a Corpus Fund of 12 months’ of expenditure of the organisation thereby ensuring a smooth sustenance. It will help reduce financial vulnerability and thereby help us achieve our goals.
